LAST SEASON:
Schmidt made nine appearances with Charleston Battery, part of a midfield unit that competed in the USL Championship Final.
USL EXPERIENCE:
He spent two years playing soccer professionally, with both being for Charleston. During his rookie campaign in 2022, he appeared in 29 matches. In those matches, he won 71 duels, 20 tackles won, 17 clearances, and 16 interceptions.
OUTSIDE THE USL:
Competing at a high level at a young age, Schmidt was a part of the U-14 and U-15 U.S. Youth National teams. He played with the USSDA Internationals Academy for four years, starting in all four. He committed to play soccer for the Indiana Hoosiers, redshirting as a freshman and playing four seasons for the team. He would make 73 appearances for the team, with three goals and nine assists in his collegiate career. In 2018 and 2020 he would compete in the College Cup, and in 2020 he would lead the team to a national championship appearance. Directly after a senior 2021-2022 season highlighted by his captainship, he signed with Charleston of the USL Championship.
