OUR NAME
As a Club by the fans, for the fans, we listened to what was important to you and selected our name and colors based on your feedback.
Hartford Proud:
The name is Hartford authentic and proud. We aim to represent Hartford everywhere we go, and you told us it was important to have Hartford in the name.
Youth-focused:
As do major Clubs throughout the world, this name originates in a local youth organization (Hartford Athletic Club). Providing opportunities for youth underpins our mission and that commitment is the driving force behind why we are here today.
Soccer authentic:
It was important to you that we are soccer authentic but unique – there can only be so many “Uniteds.” Athletic follows international soccer naming conventions but is the first in the U.S. for a pro soccer team.
Hartford Blue and Green:
This one was easy. We like to call our colors “Hartford Green and Blue” because these have become the unofficial colors of our community. We bleed Green and Blue and are proud to continue this legacy.
