LAST SEASON:
Buckmaster spent his 2023 season with Memphis 901 FC as one of their top defenders. During this season, he was in the top three in both blocks and interceptions, with 11 and 35 respectively. He appeared in 20 matches and started in each of them, totaling over 17,000 minutes played. He helped lead his team to the fourth-best record in the East, good for a playoff berth.
USL EXPERIENCE:
His USL career began in 2019, spending time with the New York Red Bulls II. He made 18 appearances, mixed with time spent with their top-flight affiliate. In 2020, he signed with Memphis 901 FC, starting every game for them. During this season, he ranked third for Memphis in clearances, duels won, and blocks, and led the club in interceptions. Following this season, he signed with Indy Eleven in 2021. After one season, he headed back to Memphis where he spent his next two seasons. During these two years, he appeared in 53 matches, starting in all of them.
OUTSIDE THE USL:
To begin his playing career, he played for Canterbury High School from 2011 to 2012, winning a state championship in both his Freshman and Sophomore seasons. During the 2012 season, Buckmaster attended the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team summer camp. After his sophomore year, he left high school soccer to focus on academy play, which showed immediate promise. During the 2013-2014 season, he was named to the Central Conference Starting XI with the Indiana Fire Development Academy. After making the 2014 NSCAA Youth All-American team, he committed to Indiana University to play collegiately. In college, he was part of a Hoosiers team that led the NCAA in shutouts two times and was named Second-Team All-Big Ten his senior year in 2018. In 2019, he was drafted 32nd overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by the New York Red Bulls. He made 7 appearances for the top-flight club, with his most impressive being an appearance in the 2019 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
