Hartford Athletic have signed 19 year old Canton, Connecticut native Justin DiCarlo to a USL Academy Contract for the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval.
DiCarlo attended Hartford Athletic’s open tryouts in 2021 and was invited to continue training with the team throughout the season at just 16 years old. He attended The Hotchkiss School, where he earned All-State honors after recording four shutouts and averaging seven saves per game his senior year. This past summer, DiCarlo returned for a second training stint with the club.
“Signing a local player like Justin shows exactly the opportunity that we can provide for talent in this area,” said Head Coach and General Manager Brendan Burke. “He’s another valuable addition to our Academy, and we expect him to take a big step in his career while competing with this talented goalkeeping unit every day.”
Hartford Athletic begin their season by traveling down to El Paso to face Locomotive FC on March 9th. The club will break out the home kits at Trinity Health Stadium on March 23rd against Birmingham Legion FC. Fans interested in purchasing tickets can visit HartfordAthletic.com/tickets.
