PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Hartford Athletic #99 Ever "Cheno" Guzmán, F:
Hartford Athletic totaled just 49 goals in the 2019 campaign and signed Ever Guzmán in hopes of fortifying the offensive attack in 2020. Guzmán is the leading scorer in the history of San Antonio FC, a club in the USL Championship’s Western Conference, scoring 24 goals over 3 seasons. In preseason, Guzmán showed he still has a knack for scoring goals. He found the back of the net four times in the first half against New England Revolution II in a 5-1 victory.
New York Red Bulls II #39 Sebastian Elney F:
Elney is one of just a handful of players from the season opener who will take the field for RBII on Friday night. Elney is no stranger to Hartford, he played a full 90 minutes and scored the opener in RBII's victory at Dillon Stadium last season. You can bet he will be counted on to generate offense for RBII.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT:
New York Red Bulls II enter Friday’s match without having played a match since the season’s opening weekend on March 7th. That was a 1-0 home loss to Tampa Bay Rowdies. New York should show plenty of youth come Friday night as six players who started in the season opening match back in March, dressed for the first team in their opening match against Atlanta United in the MLS is Back Tournament.
