LAST SEASON
Michee Ngalina’s 2025 campaign was another incredibly successful season for the speedy forward. Offensively, he contributed five goals and three assists, enough for third on the team in both stat categories. Additionally, Ngalina’s 10 all-time assists puts him in third place in club history. The 2025 season also saw Ngalina fire off 39 shots (second most on the team) and place 24 on target to lead the squad in SOT. Over 27 appearances – with 22 starts – and 1,991 minutes, he created 19 goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates and put 32 crosses into the box. Ngalina’s stellar performance earned him two Team of the Week nominations (Week 23 and 33).
USL EXPERIENCE
Entering American soccer in 2018, Ngalina has put together a stellar career resume. He entered the USL in grand fashion, impressing with 12 goals and four assists in two seasons and earning a spot on the USL’s “20 under 20’ at the end of both campaigns.
After some time in the MLS, the Kinshasha, Democratic Republic of the Congo native returned to the USL, signing the Colorado Springs Switchbacks for the 2021 season. That year, Ngalina made 21 appearances, logged 1,809 minutes, scored eight goals and provided nine assists. After a brief loan stint with LAFC, the 5’11 forward returned to the Switchbacks for an incredibly successful 2022 season. Ngalina added 12 goals and eight assists to help power the club’s Western Conference Final appearance. He was named the USL Young Player of the Year for his performance. Both seasons with the Colorado side were under the leadership of current Hartford Head Coach Brendan Burke.
Ngalina joined Hartford in 2024 for what would prove to be an electric year of goals and backflips. He led the team in assists (5) and minutes played (2,623) by a margin of more than 200, and finished second on the squad with eight goals and 27 shots on target. Ngalina was one of only two players on the team to score a goal with both his right and left foot, and the only player to do so multiple times with both feet (6 right-footed, 2 left-footed). His performance earned him three USL Championship Team of the Week honors (Weeks 15, 19, & 24), as well as the 2024 Hartford Athletic Fans Choice Offensive Player of the Year.
OUTSIDE THE USL
Ngalina’s American soccer career began at Montverde Academy in Florida, where he immediately developed into a professional-level player. After two excellent seasons with Bethlehem Steel – under Head Coach Brendan Burke – he signed with Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union in 2019. Ngalina has also spent time in the MLS on loan to Los Angeles FC in 2021. He left the US to play in Turkey and Norway but returned in 2024 and signed with Hartford Athletic.
