BOUNCING BACK
Despite a heartbreaking result in the Prinx Tires USL Cup Final last Sunday, Athletic arrive at Saturday’s matchup riding an unbeaten streak that dates back to the start of August. The Boys in Green have turned the tide when it comes to offensive production, scoring 11 goals in their last six USL Championship contests while limiting their opponents on the defensive side of the ball. Leading a rejuvenated offense as of late has been forward Michee Ngalina, who has scored four goals and tacked on two assists en route to being named a nominee for USL Championship Player of the Month. The 26-year-old sits one goal shy of becoming Hartford Athletic’s all-time leading goal scorer.
SCOUTING REPORT
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC holds an 11-11-5 (W-L-D) overall mark in USL Championship action, sitting right in the thick of the Eastern Conference’s playoff picture. The Riverhounds haven’t scored a goal since their win over Loudoun United FC back on September 12, getting shut out by identical 1-0 scores by Detroit City FC and Orange County SC in their last two matches, respectively. Trevor Amann leads the club with seven goals, while Albert Dikwa and Samuel Bassett follow with six goals apiece.
