HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford Athletic continues their unbeaten streak across league and cup play as they defeated Tampa Bay Rowdies at Trinity Health Stadium on Saturday Night.
With the victory Hartford improves to 8-5-10 in USL Championship play, and moves into 5th place in the Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay falls to 14-4-6, but maintains their first place spot in the East.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hartford set the pace early, earning the match’s first corner kick in the 13th minute. But it was Michael Adedokun’s first Goal in Hartford on an assist from Sadat Anaku that opened the scoring in the 26th minute.
- Anaku found himself on the score sheet again after halftime, burying a beautifully led ball from Michee Ngalina to double Hartford’s advantage.
- Tampa Bay wouldn’t go quietly, as Laurence Wyke rippled twine on a screamer from beyond the box in the 79th minute and the Rowdies would earn a corner kick just five minutes later, but sent that chance wide.
- It would be Ngalina icing the game for Hartford, however, as he nailed home a penalty kick in the 88th minute to secure the 3-1 victory.
