TAMPA, Fla. – Following a two-match road trip featuring four points secured via a pair of dramatic, last-minute goals, two members of Hartford Athletic claimed United Soccer League Championship Team of the Week honors. Goalkeeper Enzo Carvalho and defender Sebastian Anderson both earned spots on the league’s Team of the Week, which was announced Tuesday afternoon.
Carvalho earned his first start in USL Championship action this season on Saturday at Detroit City FC, making a statement between the pipes. The Brazilian made six saves and surrendered just one goal late in the 95th minute en route to a 1–1 draw.
Anderson continued his impressive stretch on the backline against Charleston Battery last Wednesday, recording an assist—his third in as many contests—alongside three chances created and a clearance. The 24-year-old leads the club with five assists in 16 USL Championship appearances this season.
Hartford Athletic hosts Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the semifinal round of the Prinx Tires USL Cup tonight at 7:00 p.m.
