HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford Athletic announced the addition of defender Arturo Ordóñez, who joins the club on loan from Lexington SC of the United Soccer League Championship, official as of Monday pending league and federation approval.
The Spaniard arrives in Hartford after appearing in 15 matches with Lexington SC this season, ranking third on the club with 52 total clearances and second with 13 blocks. The 29-year-old defender was selected 39th overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft before spending time with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Louisville City FC of the United Soccer League Championship. During his time split between those two clubs, he was named to the USL Championship All-League First Team twice.
“Adding a player who has accomplished what Arturo has in our league and in our conference recently at his age is rare at this time in the season,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brendan Burke. “We are very happy to bring him to Hartford before the busiest stretch of our season and with so much to play for given our position in the (USL) Cup and the league. We’re excited to welcome Arturo and his wife to Hartford.”
