HARTFORD, Conn. – History was made for Hartford Athletic on Wednesday night as the hosts dominated AC Connecticut by a 7-0 score in United Soccer League W League action. The win marked the first-ever victory in club history and featured the first-ever goals in club history.
With the win, Hartford improves to 1-0-2 in league play. AC Connecticut falls to 0-1-1 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED.
- History was made in the 30th minute as Natalie Chudowsky potted the club’s first-ever goal off of a slick setup pass in the bottom of the box by Jocyline Koffi, putting Hartford ahead, 1-0.
- Hartford added to their lead when Ashley Reyes scored in the 49th minute off of a pass from Emma Gregorski, marking a 2-0 score. In the 52nd minute, Athletic pushed their lead to 3-0 when Rachel Wygant tucked home the rock.
- Hartford pushed their lead to 5-0 with a pair of goals within four minutes of each other. Rebeca Frisk tallied for Athletic in the 57th minute just before Reyes potted her second goal of the night in the 61st minute.
- The hosts added their sixth and seventh goals of the night to the score, pushing the score to 7-0 as Shea Kelleher (84’) and Juliana Garcia (87’) scored their first career goals for Hartford.
- Athletic dominated the outing, holding a 27-5 shots advantage and a 13-0 corner kicks advantage.
