HARTFORD, Conn. – In their inaugural match within the United Soccer League W League, Hartford Athletic played Vermont Green FC to a 0-0 stalemate at home on Tuesday night.
Despite the scoreless draw, Athletic controlled much of the pace of play with a flurry of high-danger chances in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED.
- Vermont Green FC carried much of the pace of play in the early going, resulting in four corners within the first half. Hartford Athletic matched the tempo, resulting in five shots towards goal with three ending on goal. Shea Kelleher rallied two of the tries on goal, both proving unsuccessful.
- Athletic continued the momentum into the second half with Jocyline Koffi nicking three shots towards goal. Hartford Athletic outshot Vermont Green FC 6-1 in the second half and had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
- Katrina Chorzepa made two saves in goal for Hartford.
