The Hartford Athletic Women’s Team has gained two more talented players with the signings of Maggie Kershnar and Jocyline Koffi. Both prolific forwards and Division 1 commits, Kershnar and Koffi will further bolster the championship squad that Head Coach Danny Barrera is working to put together for the USL W League this summer.
Maggie Kershnar is just a junior in high school, and this year she captained Amity Regional High School to the CIAC Class LL Final – played at Hartford Athletic’s very own Trinity Health Stadium. Although they fell to Greenwich, the Spartans had a fabulous 2025 season which included a 12-game winning streak in the regular season followed by a five-game undefeated streak in the post season.
At forward, Kershnar was a crucial part of Amity’s offensive success and was selected to the Class LL CGSCA All-Region and All-State teams as a result. The Woodbridge, CT native plays for Connecticut Football Club’s ECNL team and trains with the elite program Ginga FC. Kershnar has verbally committed to play Division 1 soccer at University of Connecticut (Class of 2031) after she finishes her stellar career at Amity Regional.
As a junior captain, Kershnar has shown that she is fit for leadership and tough enough to handle any challenges thrown her way. Her lethal goal-scoring ability will help power the Hartford Athletic Women’s Team’s offense all season long.
Jocyline Koffi is currently a senior at Suffield Academy, where she is a captain of the girls soccer team. The dynamic, playmaking forward had an incredibly successful 2025 season, earning a spot on the All-NEPSAC team and the New England All-Region Team, while also being selected for the Senior Bowl Game and the WWNEPSSA All-Star Game.
Koffi is also known as being an outstanding and creative midfielder for her club team, Connecticut Football Club. A native of the Ivory Coast, Koffi was called up to the national team in October of 2025 for the country’s 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches. She has signed with Providence College to play Division 1 soccer this coming fall (Class of 2030).
With high school, club and international experience to her name, Koffi has shown that she can perform at all levels of the game. We are excited to see her lethal goalscoring ability on the pitch this summer, along with her famous flipping celebrations.
Keshnar and Koffi have both proven themselves to be clinical and dynamic goal scorers, traits that will be crucial for success in the Hartford Athletic Women’s inaugural season.
