Andre Lewis has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 17. This is Lewis’s first Team of the Week selection of 2022.
Lewis was an integral part of Hartford’s victory over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC last Tuesday. The Jamaican midfielder was all over the pitch, recording three shots, winning eight duels, and creating two chances. He capped off his night with a leaping header in the 79th minute that got past Colorado’s Christian Herrera and gave Hartford a 2-0 lead and an eventual three points at home. A big victory for Hartford and a great feeling for Lewis, as his first goal of the season came against his former club.
Lewis joins defender Tom Brewitt as players to be named to the Team of the Week with Brewitt earning honors in Week 15. Forward Corey Hertzog and Midfielder Luka Prpa have both been named Honorable Mention Team of the Week this season
