NO SLOWING DOWN
Hartford enters Wednesday’s contest as the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, remaining unbeaten in its last eight matches across all competitions. With its last loss dating back to August 1st, it seems the busier the schedule gets for Athletic, the more momentum the team collects. This dominant run has allowed Hartford to climb all the way to fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, despite being outside the playoff picture just a few weeks ago. Coming off an impressive 3-1 win over the league-leading Tampa Bay Rowdies last time out, the team shows no signs of slowing down.
SCOUTING REPORT
In their inaugural season in the USL Championship, Sporting JAX has struggled to make an immediate impact. The club holds a 3-16-5 (W-L-D) overall record in league play, sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Despite winning just three times this season, two of those victories have come within their last four contests—including a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Lexington SC on September 5. Kieran Sadlier, who has scored twice in his last three outings, leads the club with ten goals in USL Championship action.
BEFORE THE HUDDLE
“Sporting JAX have picked up a few good results over the last few games and are still pushing hard,” said Head Coach Brendan Burke. “This is not a game that we can take lightly, and it is every bit as important as the Tampa Bay game to our pursuit of a home playoff game.”
