BUILDING OFF OF MOMENTUM
Hartford heading into Saturday’s contest as winners of their last two matches, scoring seven goals in their last three outings. After an underwhelming stretch through July, outside of a key result in Prinx Tires USL Cup play, Athletic are ready to show their recent results were no fluke. With key players returning to the lineup alongside the arrival of seasoned veteran Arturo Ordóñez on the back end, Hartford is on track to make a positive playoff push in the final stretch of the USL Championship season.
SCOUTING REPORT
Birmingham Legion FC heads into Saturday’s matchup struggling to find consistency this season, despite showing flashes of brilliance along the way. They currently hold a 3-8-8 overall record in league play, earning 17 points in the standings. However, Birmingham Legion FC has found some momentum recently, scoring nine times across their last five outings and winning twice in that span—a notable improvement after going 2-5-7 in their first 14 matches. Tyler Pasher leads a low-scoring offensive committee with four goals this season, while goalkeeper Jassem Koleilat leads the league with 70 saves.
BEFORE THE HUDDLE
“This is a big game for both teams. Birmingham Legion FC is a very dangerous team going forward with a lot of talented pieces and fluidity in their attack,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brendan Burke. “Our concentration level will have to be very high as will our appetite to win transition moments.”
