INDIANAPOLIS, In. – A second-half tally by Jordan Scarlett helped Hartford Athletic earn a vial point in the United Soccer League Championship standings as the club fought to a 1-1 draw with Eastern Conference foe Indy Eleven in league action on Sunday evening.
With the tie, Hartford shifts to a 4-5-9 overall mark in USL Championship play. Indy Eleven now sits at 6-7-4 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Indy Eleven rippled twine early as Jack Blake sent a direct pass to the box from the edge of the pitch, finding the head of Edward Kizza who tapped home the night’s opening score in the 3rd minute.
- While Hartford couldn’t find the tying score in the remainder of the half, they quickly changed the pace of play, taking a 9-3 advantage in shot attempts and a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks into the break.
- Sadat Anaku registered Athletic’s best chance of the half in stoppage time, barely being denied by Eric Dick on a point blank try behind the host’s defensive corps.
- Antony Siaha was tested in the second half, starting with a diving stop in the 53rd minute and adding another crucial stop in the final going. However, in the 74th minute, Hartford knotted the score at one-all as Scarlett headed in a perfectly placed pass by Sebastian Anderson.
- The Boys in Green finished the evening owning advantages in shots on target (5-4), shot attempts (18-10), and corner kicks (9-2). In goal, Siaha made three saves.

- Tonight marked the 13th all-time meeting between the two teams.
