WATERBURY, Conn. – A three-goal second half and a dominant performance all-around led Hartford Athletic to a 4-0 shutout over AC Connecticut in United Soccer League W League action on Tuesday night.
With their third straight win, Athletic improves to 3-0-2 in league play. AC Connecticut falls to 0-5-1 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a slew of corner kicks to open the match, Hartford broke the scoreless tie in the 15th minute as Rebeca Frisk tapped in a cross in the low box behind AC Connecticut’s goalkeeper, marking a 1-0 score.
- Athletic doubled their advantage in the 54th minute as Jocyline Koffi potted the rock off of a corner kick, marking a 2-0 game. In the 74th minute, Alex Ackerman scored her first of the season for Hartford off of slick cross by Mya Johnson.
- Johnson tallied for Athletic just four minutes after Ackerman’s add-on on another smooth cross, pushing the advantage to 4-0.
