Christos Hadjipaschalis joins Hartford Athletic from Cypriot professional football club Akritas Chlorakas. The team plays in the Cypriot First Division, the highest level of the Cypriot football league system. The 26-year-old has made eight appearances with the squad for a total of 256 minutes. He also made one starting appearance in the Kypello Kyprou Cup for Akritas Chlorakas, playing a full 90 minutes before signing with Hartford Athletic. Known for his versatility and play-linking ability, Hadjipaschalis will be a solid option for Head Coach Brendan Burke.
USL EXPERIENCE
The Nicosia, Cyprus native has spent the entirety of his professional career in Cyprus, so 2026 will be his debut in the USL, and American soccer in general.
OUTSIDE THE USL
Hadjipaschalis started his career playing in the youth programs of several prominent Cyprus clubs including, Anorthosis, Aris Limassol, ASIL Lysi, PO Xylotymbou and Nea Salamis. He represented his country at the U-17, U-19, and U-21 levels, totaling 16 caps. The midfielder made his professional debut in Cyprus in 2016 and has gradually built experience in the Cypriot leagues with regular playing time across several clubs. From 2022 to 2024, he spent time with Othellos scoring 6 goals and making 54 appearances. Halfway through 2024, Hadjipaschalis was transferred to AEZ Zakakiou, where he made 25 appearances and scored 2 goals.
