Fill the Cup for Jamaica

After raising Hartford’s first championship cup, Captain Jordan Scarlett is asking the Connecticut community to help fill it with supplies for Jamaica. Join our Hurricane Melissa Relief Drive, through the Green & Blue Foundation, to support families impacted.

Captain’s Call to the Community

When Category 5 Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica in October 2025, it left thousands without homes, power, or basic supplies. Hartford Athletic’s captain, Jordan Scarlett, and Bronx native with deep Jamaican roots, is leading the charge to help his family’s homeland recover.

The ‘Fill the Cup’ campaign calls upon Hartford Athletic’s partners, the Connecticut community and fans to help fill the championship cup with critical supplies for hurricane victims. Scarlett has a personal goal to be able to send at least 20 barrels worth of supplies to Jamaica. Every item helps, from a pack of batteries to a box of diapers. Together, we can make an impact for families in Jamaica rebuilding their lives.

About the Green & Blue Foundation

The Green & Blue Foundation is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to making our community the best place to live, work, and play.

Established in 2020, the Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life for youth and disadvantaged people in Connecticut, with a focus on making a difference for communities in need in support of five key Community Pillars. See ongoing and past activities of the Green & Blue Foundation below.

Goals for Meals

Hartford Athletic has teamed up with Nuovo Pasta, Citizens Bank, Stop & Shop, and ConnectiCare to provide donations for every Green & Blue goal scored throughout the season. This past season over 1,000 meals were donated to Connecticut Foodshare.

Hiring Expo

Hartford Athletic with the CT Department of Labor hosts an annual Hiring Expo at Trinity Health Stadium, connecting over 800 job seekers to more than 50 local employers. Attendees receive resume and interview support, along with professional development resources and valuable networking opportunities that foster direct connections with hiring organizations. Admission is for free job seekers and their families.

Clean Up Days

Hartford Athletic, in partnership with 4G Recycling, hosted a community park clean-up to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship. Players, coaches, ownership, and front office staff rolled up their sleeves to beautify Colt Park and Riverside Park to give back to the community.

Summer Reading Sundays

Presented by M&T Bank and supported by the Hartford, members of the community were invited to Trinity Health Stadium for a day of reading and playing. Over 300 families joined for reading on the pitch, educational programming from the Hartford Public Library, followed by on-field soccer clinics. Participants also enjoyed complementary pizza courtesy of Wooster Street Pizza and could enter giveaways.

Hartford Athletic Youth Academy

The Green & Blue Foundation directly cover 25% of all Hartford Athletic Youth Academy tuition, ensuring that more young athletes across Greater Hartford have access to high-quality coaching, training, and development opportunities. This commitment helps reduce financial barriers for families, allowing talented players from diverse backgrounds to pursue their passion for soccer.

Community Tickets

Hartford Athletic is committed to making Hartford and Connecticut the best place to live, work, and play. This past season, the Green & Blue Foundation gave out over 3,660 complimentary tickets to community partners and veterans.
