LAST SEASON:
The experienced forward spent last season with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and was one of the elite goal-scorers in the league. Williams tied for 7th in the USL Championship with 15 goals scored last year, a mark good for 5th in the Western Conference. Adding three assists to the stat sheet, he helped Switchbacks FC to a playoff berth.
USL EXPERIENCE:
A seasoned USL veteran, Williams has played in the league since 2015. Spending time with FC Montreal, he tallied his first assist in seven appearances. He then spent the 2016 and 2017 with Charleston Battery. In 49 appearances, he impressed with 25 goals and three assists. Bouncing between the USL Championship Atlanta United 2 and their MLS affiliate from 2018 to 2019, he settled in with Miami FC in 2020. He tallied one goal for every other appearance, totaling eight by the end of the year. Taking a brief stint overseas between 2020 and 2021, Williams came back to the USL Championship League in 2022. In 10 matches with New Mexico United, he contributed a goal. Finally making his way to Colorado, he matched his career best in goals scored.
OUTSIDE THE USL:
Williams began international play for the Jamaican U-17 national team prior to college. He made eight appearances in U-17 international play, with five in the CONCACAF Qualifiers for the 2011 U-17 FIFA World Cup, and three in the 2011 U-17 FIFA World Cup. This led to his college career at UCF, where he spent three seasons. In those seasons, he appeared in 51 matches, starting in 46. He sported 18 goals and five assists during this time, including an impressive seven game-winning goals. Six of those goals were scored during his 2013 sophomore season, which contributed to his American Athletic Conference Player of the Year honor. In his junior season, he made the American Athletic Conference First Team and decided to forego his senior season for the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. His standout season had him selected third overall to Montreal Impact (now CF Montreal). He competed for three MLS clubs from 2015 to 2019, totaling 28 appearances and two goals. During his tenure with Atlanta United, he appeared in 17 matches and scored a goal en route to an MLS Cup victory. From 2020 to 2021, he played two full seasons for Al Ittihad of the Egyptian Premier League, scoring three goals during that time. While overseas, he competed for Kuwait Premier League club Qadsia SC and added five goals to the stat sheet.
