Hartford Athletic fell to Memphis 901 FC after a tough battle ending in a 2-1 loss on Friday night. Memphis 901 FC started off the scoring in the 24th minute with a goal from Duane Muckette. Muckette came through the center of the box for a quick pass from Abdi Mohamed to tap it in for the goal.

Hartford was quick to answer in the 31st minute with a textbook give and go. Raymond Lee fed Alex Dixon only to get it right back and drill one into the back of the net to bring it all level.

The score would remain tied heading into the half. In the 70th minute Memphis’ Elliot Collier attempted a header on a cross that was saved by Lissek but with the goalkeeper on the ground, Collier tapped it in on the rebound. The 2-1 score would hold out through the end of the match despite a late flurry of chances for the Athletic.

Hartford Athletic - Jacob Lissek, GK

Lissek has started 7 games for Hartford Athletic this season and has made 31 saves, tied for second best in the USL Championship. Cosmos B bring in a high-powered offense and Lissek will have to continue to be a standout on the goal line for Athletic.

New York Cosmos B - Junior Burgos, MF

Burgos made his league debut for the Cosmos on Saturday night and scored twice on free kicks, both from over 25 yards out. Burgos can add some extra offense to an already potent Cosmos attack.

New York Cosmos B enters the match with a record of 4-0. Cosmos advanced through the first round of the Open Cup with a 2-1 win over Black Rock FC. Bledi Bardic headed in a beautiful cross at the final whistle to advance Cosmos into the Second Round. The Cosmos come into the match undefated in league play, defeating Boston City FC 5-0 over the weekend.

The winner of tonight's match will advance to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. They'll take on the winner of the Memphis 901 FC-New York Red Bulls U-23 match on May 29th.
