By Hartford Athletic, 04/18/19, 9:45AM EDT

Montclair, NJ - Hartford Athletic suffered a tough defeat to New York Red Bulls II, who now finds themselves in third place in the Eastern Conference. After a scoreless first 45 minutes, RBII found the back of the net four times in the second-half for a 4-0 victory.

Both sides had chances in a scoreless opening half, but the Red Bulls II took the lead eight minutes after the break when Jared Stroud produced a chipped finish from 30 yards after Goalkeeper Jon Kempin had to come out of his penalty area to make a challenge on a breaking Tom Barlow. Barlow found the net to cap off a sweeping counterattack in the 64th minute to make it a 2-0 lead.

Derrick Etienne Jr. and Chris Lema also scored, leading the Red Bulls II to their fourth victory in their opening five outings.

Hartford will get a long break before the return to action on April 27th against North Carolina FC.
